Is 4:30am early or late?
Well I’m about to head to sleep. It’s about 4:30am. This is an “earlier” sleep time than usual but is still pretty bad. I need a special airline pass that allows me to fly to different timezones when my sleep gets messed-up. In all honesty, I really would go somewhere across the world right now for a few weeks if I could afford it. I know it would at least fix my sleep for a while and would be such a stress-relief. You have no idea (well maybe you do ;-)) of how much stress this whole thing causes me.
No commentsWhat is it with the number 5?
Well it looks like I’m heading to bed and it’s about 5am. It’s a bit better than usual. We’ll see how well it goes when I check in with you tomorrow. Today was alright, I didn’t do that much active stuff but I seem to be tired for some reason. I think my allergies are bothering me lately. I don’t have horrible allergies but I do have some to trees (as tested) and the usual dust and junk. They usually only bother me in the spring when the snow melts but sometimes they also bug me at random points during the year. It could be a reason why I’m not sleeping well lately also. Who knows…
No commentsIt’s getting worse
Well, it’s 7am. This seems to be a pattern getting worse. Not sure what it is. I’ve flipped the pattern a few times. Usually I have to stay up for about 24 hours and go to bed early. Then I’ll wake-up early the next day and the pattern will be ok for about a month or so. It’s an ongoing issue. Most people have a balanced wake and sleep cycle. What happens if you have to stay up a bit longer each day in succession? I’m not suggesting that’s my problem, but what if that were the case? I would have no idea for a solution to that.
No commentsTired and then not…
A second wind of energy is a dangerous thing. I find that whenever I’m tired and I ignore that fact for a couple hours, I get a second wind and then I’m not tired again for…well I don’t know, it doesn’t come back often. That’s what happened tonight. I was tired early-on and was playing poker with friends, so by the end of it I was no longer tired (and don’t expect me to quit a poker game to go to sleep, what kind of life would that be?!). So, I am now going to bed at 6:10am…hopefully I’ll fall asleep faster than yesterday! Night!
No commentsLatest post yet?
Well not a proud point, but I think this is my latest (or earliest) post yet. It is now 6:30am and I am heading to bed and hopefully sleep! It’s a little warm so I’m going to put my fan on to cool my room down a bit. I usually leave my television on “sleep” mode and fall asleep with it on. I can’t usually just fall asleep without some kind of white noise (even if it’s as noisy as a tv) as my brain is too active trying to “concentrate” on sleep :-P. Goodnight!
No comments6am a sign?
Well, I’m now heading to bed. I was really tired all day but I couldn’t get enough done apparently because I’m going to bed again at 6am. I don’t have sympathy for myself today…I think it’s my fault on this night I’m going to bed this late. My body was really tired earlier in the evening but I knew if I stayed awake that my body would move past that point. I guess I was right because my body went way past that point and now I’m back to not being tired. Maybe not such a good plan. Can someone give me a good nap plan? haha
No commentsA bit better
Well, I seem to have tired myself by doing something (what, I’m not so sure). I went to dinner and a movie this evening…both were very good. During the day I didn’t do all that much, the weather wasn’t the best.
I just noticed something that I should inform you of while reading my posts. When I say tonight, I usually actually mean yesterday for most of you. I’ll walk you through how my “times” work. My 24 hour day is basically:
- wake-up at sometime after noon (I still call it my afternoon and try to eat breakfast)
- do my daily “things” until night (usually until around 11pm or midnight)
- be awake the hours where everyone else sleeps until I am tired (this usually lasts until about 4am-8am depending on many things and I still call this my night. This can be my night, right? I mean we can share your morning as my night…well, I’m going to keep doing it anyway no matter what you think
)
So, I am going to try to get some sleep. It’s just about 4am, which is better than usual for me. Good night all! Or, should I say good morning?
No commentsI’m actually exhausted
Yes, you read that right…I am actually exhausted. It’s 5:20am and I am just heading to bed. I would’ve actually liked to have been able to go to bed about an hour ago but I’ve been working on some projects I needed to get done before tomorrow.
When I say that I’m “going to bed”, that doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m “going to sleep”. Going to bed represents lying in bed and trying to sleep. They say it’s not good to be in bed when you can’t sleep. You need to train your body so that your brain believes that your bed is only for sleeping (well and maybe a couple of other things :-P). So, they say that if you don’t fall asleep within about 25 minutes, that you’re supposed to get back up from bed and go do some other things…then try again in 45 minutes to an hour. This idea doesn’t work for me, as then I’d never fall asleep but it might work for some other people, so who knows.
No commentsWelcome!
So, what do you do when you can’t sleep?…You write about it and hope maybe somebody out there knows what it feels like. No, I don’t suffer from what people like to call insomnia…it’s far worse. I can’t explain in one post exactly what it is but it’s been going on for far too long. Through this site I hope to explore my problem and share ideas with other people who may have the same problem or even just be interested in what it is. It’s currently almost 5:30am (EST) and I’m going to try to get some sleep. Talk to you again tomorrow!
